Found Mask
BISIA 230 Perf Arts Technique
Found Mask explores the emotional journey of physical injury and recovery through performance and object-making. The video was filmed vertically using a smartphone. During a period when I was experiencing limited mobility due to a lower back injury, I created a sorrowful mask entirely from empty painkiller boxes, transforming the medication that accompanied my recovery into a visual symbol of pain and vulnerability. In the second half of the video, after recovering, I reverse the mask to reveal a joyful expression and perform a dance. The transformation of the mask reflects the transition from suffering to healing, while the movement celebrates the return of physical freedom.

Assignment 1 is a humorous video edit created from original footage I filmed in my kitchen. Inspired by internet meme culture, I mixed everyday cooking with fast-paced editing, popular meme references, ridiculous sound effects, and exaggerated visual effects to make a simple task feel unexpectedly dramatic. The project was an experiment in comedic timing, editing rhythm, and transforming ordinary moments into something fun and chaotic.

Nightmare is an experimental video inspired by examples shown in class and my own experiences with vivid dreams. Built around the theme of "Nightmare," the video follows a dreamlike sequence where the feeling of being chased gradually intensifies through fragmented editing, distorted visuals, and rapid transitions. Rather than presenting a linear story, I wanted the scenes to overlap and collide, reflecting the irrational and chaotic nature of dreams. The piece ends with the sound of an alarm clock, bringing both the nightmare and the emotional tension to an abrupt end.
The Time
BISIA 344 Video Art
The Time is a personal reflection on growth, creativity, and the passage of time. Building on the nightmare imagery from a previous project, the film transforms fear into acceptance by revisiting the emotions that shaped my work throughout the quarter. Combining original footage, visual symbolism, and a cover song performed for another class, the piece weaves together memories of multiple projects into a single narrative. Rather than focusing on the nightmare itself, the film explores the process of moving beyond anxiety, finding confidence through creative expression, and stepping toward a new beginning.
Animation Project
BIS 209 Engaging Visual And Media Arts
This is a personal animated video inspired by my lifelong connection with video games. Using different generations of Nintendo handheld consoles and Pokémon as symbols of each stage of my life, the video traces memories from childhood, moving overseas, and adapting to new environments. The project combines hand-drawn animation, digital editing, and a self-recorded cover of a Pokémon theme song to create a visual timeline of my experiences. Through the recurring presence of games, the film reflects on how familiar stories and music can preserve memories, provide comfort during difficult times, and mark the passage of time.

BISIA 330 Arts-in-Practice
Yodaka no Hoshi – The Nighthawk Star is an original music video created for my cover of a song by Sound Horizon. Inspired by the song's message of resilience and hope, I combined typography, motion graphics, and visual effects to create a fast-paced promotional video that reflects its emotional energy.
As my first project created in Adobe After Effects, this piece represents an important learning experience. From planning and animation to compositing and editing, I explored the fundamentals of motion design while developing a visual language that supports the music. Beyond recreating the song, the project challenged me to transform sound into a compelling visual narrative and laid the foundation for my later video and motion graphic work.

Arts Workshop: The Art of the Remix
Midterm Portfolio is an experimental remix video created in Adobe Premiere Pro that explores rhythm, timing, and internet remix culture. Inspired by Japanese oto-kei MAD videos, I combined commercial footage, sound effects, and music into a fast-paced edit where every visual cut is synchronized with the soundtrack. Rather than relying on narrative, the project focuses on comedic pacing and audiovisual rhythm, transforming familiar media into an energetic and entertaining viewing experience. As my first project in this editing style, it also marked an important step in developing my sense of timing, sound design, and fast-paced video editing.
Final Project

Final Project combines voice synthesis, motion graphics, and video editing into a single remix-based music video. Using UTAU, I created and tuned a custom vocal track from speech recordings to perform a Japanese song. I then designed the typography, animated graphics, and visual effects in Adobe After Effects, before completing the pacing, synchronization, and final composition in Adobe Premiere Pro. Through this workflow, I explored the relationship between sound, rhythm, and visual storytelling while developing a deeper understanding of multi-software video production.
