This reflective essay explores how my educational experiences in China and the United States shaped my perspective on learning and creativity. Through personal experiences and concepts discussed in BIS 300, I reflect on the differences between educational environments and how they influenced my interests in art, media, and creative expression.

Winter 2024
This group project explores the design of a communication app for astronauts on Mars to stay connected with friends and family on Earth. Our team developed the concept through user personas, research, prototyping, and usability testing, with a focus on functionality, visual hierarchy, accessibility, and a consistent UI. I contributed to the persona development and the creation of the light and dark color schemes for the final prototype.

Autumn 2025
This project explores the American Indian Movement (AIM) and its role in Indigenous activism and social justice in the United States. Through individual research, cultural artifact analysis, and a collaborative presentation, I examined AIM’s history, the 1973 Wounded Knee Occupation, and the movement’s use of protest, media, and symbolism to challenge systemic injustice.

Autumn 2025
This collaborative project, Halal Harvest: Food, Faith & Storytelling, explored the cultures of Muslim-majority regions through food, art, and cultural storytelling. As part of the Middle East team, I contributed to the design and production of our installation, including developing the display concept and constructing a miniature Kaaba as its centerpiece. The project combined cultural research, food, and visual presentation to create an accessible and interactive experience for visitors.
